AM I ELIGIBLE?
Tamworth Meals on Wheels are available to consumers registered with My Aged Care through both the Commonwealth Home Suppot Program (CHSP) and consumers on a Home Care Package.
Meals on Wheels are also available to people with a disability who are registered with the NDIS.
The Carer Gateway is a new national website and phone number to help carers access information and advice and connect with services in their local area. It is the first stage of the Australian Government’s Integrated Plan for Carer Support Services. Carers can use the Carer Gateway online at www.carergateway.gov.au or calling 1800 422 737 (Mon to Fri, 8am to 6pm).
Meals are also available to people who are not eligible for funding assistance, but who wish to purchase meals on a full cost basis.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
If you are 65 years or over (or 50 years or over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders) you are eligible for My Aged Care.
To organise a referral for meals please call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit the My Aged Care website by clicking here. Alternatively, you can contact our friendly staff on 02 6765 8999, and we can simply arrange the referral on your behalf. However you will need to speak to My Aged Care to activate the referral. The process typically takes up to 48 hours, however, we can commence our service to you in the meantime if needed.
