About MOW

Tamworth Meals on Wheels is a community managed organisation supported by a caring diverse group of volunteers and staff.

While we do receive some funding from the Australian Government, we do rely heavily on the support and donations of our local community, essentially to provide a home meal delivery service.

The service assists HACC eligible people residing within Tamworth City to be independent at home.

Clients pay for basic meals costs only, delivery is by our dedicated volunteers at no extra cost.

Our Services

Meals

Meals are delivered five days per week, with frozen meals available to cover weekends and public holidays.

Chilled Meals are delivered in the morning. To be heated by client when required. With a four week cycle menu changed seasonally.

Frozen Meals are available on request. Can be picked up weekly or fortnightly for ‘out of town’ clients. Frozen meals can be supplied for those requiring a weekly service.

Referrals

Anyone can be referred to the service.

An assessment to determine eligibility and client needs is undertaken by trained staff. At the assessment decision is made regarding provision of service and/or referral to other agencies which may be of benefit to the client.
